A (very) brief history:
1951: Company set up by William Fernie Sleath and his sons Brian and Derek. Based in High Holborn, W.F.Sleath & Sons Ltd specialises in the retail and servicing of typewriters.
1959: Derek Sleath leaves company.
1965: William Sleath dies aged 80
1967: Company moves from High Holborn to premises at the Royal Exchange in the City.
1974: John Sleath joins the firm
1992: Brian Sleath retires
John Sleath takes over as MD
1997: www.wfsleath.co.uk is set up.
2002: Purchase of warehouse facility in London SE15.
2003: Opened shop in Seething Lane EC3
2007: Closed shop and moved operations to Cremer Street
Today the Sleath name has become synonymous with first class service and high quality products. Over the years the company has developed; embracing different technologies and adapting to continue offering excellent products, price, and service. The company is still family owned, and run by the founder’s Grandson, John Sleath. Now based in Shoreditch, Sleaths offers a range of over 19,000 office products with 2 catalogues and numerous promotional mailers coming out throughout the country per year.
